A big part of what I do as a photographer is supporting organisations in the local community, including Reading Mencap, Berkshire Brigands and Sports Together Berkshire. I provide photography to help them showcase what they do, the people they support and the difference they make. It’s something I find incredibly rewarding and inspiring. Being involved with these organisations gives me the chance to meet some amazing people and see first-hand the positive impact they have in the community. The photography is important, but for me it’s also about being involved, helping where I can and giving something back. I honestly feel that I get far more out of these experiences than I put in. The people I meet, the stories I hear and the opportunities to be part of something meaningful have become a really important part of my photography.
